Transphobic shite from feminists makes my blood boil
Trigger warning: implication that trans women cannot be survivors of abuse.
I wrote a comment but I doubt it will pass moderation. Pasting it belowdecks a response:
Original post:
“So,t me understand: trans women who are feminists and survivors of abuse are not important enough to be given support, right? We are not worth your time?
This is not the feminism I know. I can’t think of a single women only workshop on abuse in Ireland which would deny trans women access to support. Our rape crisis centres assist trans and cis women alike.
If you continue like this, you’re being complicit on the gender based oppression of trans women, one aspect of which is not being able to access support networks as they can be so exclusive. Shame on you. “

lmfao
god there is nothing more beautiful than this
i’m literally turned on by how beautiful this is
each and every time it happens
Exhibit A as to why people should think before they tattoos in languages that are not in their native tongues…
Story time! My tattoo artist had a guest artist in for a while who was a very talented Japanese dude. Anyway, some guy comes in to enquire about another tat while I’m in there and he has some Japanese writing up his arm which he tells us means ‘peace and love’ and he’d had it done while on holiday in Tokyo. Japanese starts laughing, and my artist asks him what’s so hilarious. Turns out the guy got ‘fool’ tattooed on his arm. I have a lot of love for the artist in Tokyo who did that.
And that artist in Tokyo is now my best friend.
It is pretty lulzy when it happens, but here’s another thing that does happen: Japanese kanji (as well as written chinese) are ideogram symbols which create different words in different combinations. I have ‘kakumei’ (‘revolution’) tattooed on my arm, it is a japanese word I’ve known the kanji for for years, but I made sure to double check with Japanese friends that it meant that. Then I was in a Japanese cafe last year, and the lady there laughed at my tattoo and insisted it meant something completely different :)

I really tried to capture his facial expression.
hahaha boy in outer space
maybe they just rub me wrong since they’re always explained by some pouty faced dude, but these posts always seem to roughly translate to,
“Dear girl, I know you must be insecure not because the world has told you a lot of specific instructions about how you have to dress and look a certain way in order to be happy and beautiful and to have people like you that is reflected and reinforced in all the tv and movies we watch, the magazines we buy, the commercials that air-
I know the real reason for your insecurity must be that not enough men have told you today that your face looks good no matter what you put on it. Now you feel better, right?”

Twice in the last 24 hours I’ve been harassed on the street by men who felt that it was fine to catcall me, ask for my name, comment on my appearance and even try to grab at my tattoos without my permission. It makes my blood boil; I tell people about it and half the time I get told that I’m overreacting or being sensitive. I’ve had people tell me I’m cold, that claiming to be a feminist makes me unattractive (the logic behind that is dizzying at best), even that I’m a man-hater. Guys tell me to toughen up. Girls tell me to ignore it. Great.
Y’know, I’m all for equal rights. The next time a woman pulls up next to me in her car and asks me my name and where I’m going, then tells me to smile for her only to loudly call me a bitch and threaten me before driving away when I don’t, I’ll be happy to place the blame on her. The next time a middle-aged woman sits next to me on the bus and flashes her vagina at me because she gets off on making me uncomfortable, I’ll be sure to take notes.
Fair is fair.
